Inspirations

Today some bathrooms inspirations. Say whatever but I think classic, old, freestanding bath looks always fabulous:)
You can make it contemporary or traditional, I choose traditional, vintage style.
I'm lucky to have one in my bathroom (previous owner left it).

Dzisiaj mam dla was łazienkowe inpiracje.

Wishing list part two

No, is not engagement ring. Becouse I have no dimond ring and my husband gave me a simple ring as he coulden't afford dimond that time (and I'm not fussy about it, don't need great ring, barely wear my old one), but he promised me, one day he'll buy me a better one. So here we are and I choose black dimond:)

Nadeszła więc ta chwila i wybieram czarny diament:)

Chaise Lounge

I must say I really regret that I bought my armchair. It's nice and simple, but unused, only by guest from time to time.It is too big and I know now, in my bay window chaise lounge will look much better. Unfortunately I can't change my furniture just yet (I purchased them only one year ago).

My advice to everyone who plans to change room deco or just moves to a new house: don't rush! It's better to have no furniture or old one before we decide what really suits to the interior.
But I know for sure, one day I will have a lovely classic chaise lounge, where I can relax.

30s 40s

I absolutely love fashion in 30s and 40s. Everyone was so glamour and elegant. Hats, gloves, suits, evening dresses...

It's like going out every day, feel fabulous every day, rich and posh;)
Yes, I'd like to live in that time.

Uwielbiam modę lat 30-stych i 40-stych.

Whites

As much as I like white interiors I'm tired with it. Wherever I look there are whites rooms. I don't know if it is some kind of trend now or just people laziness (is just easier to paint walls in white and buy white furnitures and accessories).
I must admit it that a few months ago I regret that I didn't make my rooms in white or black and white. But then when I sow so many rooms in those colours on internet (also other blogs) I was happy with my choice of colours.
However I can't say that I'll never have white room in my house (just have no more rooms to decorate right now).
So here are some inspirations for either lovers or haters of white interiors.

Sunday dinner

On Sunday I made for dinner roast chicken with Polish dumplings and for dessert baked apples with custard.
My inspiration came from Jamie Oliver "Ministry of Food". His motto "anyone can learn to cook in 24 hours" reminds me of animated movie "Rattatouille". Jamie's recipes are simple and easy to fallow. I recomend his books not only for beginners.

W niedzielę zrobiłam na obiad pieczonego kurczaka z kluskami a na deser pieczone jabłka z budyniem.
Zainspirowły mnie przepisy Jamiego Olivera z ksiązki "Ministry of Food".

Roast chicken
You need:
whole chicken
fresh or dry rosemary
black pepper, salt, red paprika
one lemon or orange
some vegetables (carrots, onions, parsnip, celery)
garlic
50gr butter
olive oil
sunflower oil

For gravy:
glass of white wine
100 ml chicken stock
2 tbls of plain flour

Place chicken in roasting pan, season with herbs (I used dry rosemary) salt, black pepper and red paprika. Place whole lemon or orange inside the chicken (I used orange as I didn't have lemon). Place chopped vegetables and add some butter and oil.

Place in preheated oven for about 45 minutes

When chicken is ready, place it on plate and remove fat from roasting pan. Place pan on gas and add flour, mix all together and then mash vegetables using potato masher. Add wine and cook for a few minutes, then add chicken stock, mix and cook another few minutes. Finally pour your gravy through the sieve into a large bowl.

My recipe is slightly different than original as I didn't have all ingredients.
You can find Jamie's roast chicken recipe here and for gravy here

Polish dumplings
You need:
9 medium potatoes
potato flour (mąka ziemniaczana, if you're not from Poland, you can buy it in your country in Polish shops, there are many in UK). Maybe you can also make it from plain flour but I've never tried it.
1 egg (optional)

Boiled potatoes in slightly salted water and then mash them. Split mash into four parts and in one part place the flour. Mix it with potatoes and egg.
It should looks like that:

Now make small round balls

Cook them in slightly salted boiling water until they start to float (you can try one to see if is cooked inside).

Baked apples
You can find this recipe here
I followed exactly Jamie's recipe, only I need to say that next time I wont use dry bay leaves, only fresh or none. Also I might try to cut apples in half.

Anyone can cook:)

Modern vs "Modern"

Every time I'm going to my new friends houses I have an impression that I've already seen it. Most people I know have so similar interiors. The same TV stand, coffee table, light pine laminated floor, beige carpets, or cheap rugs and of course neutral colour walls with some NY city or flowers picture hanged on it.
I'm not big fan of modern interiors, I love traditional, old and classic furniture, warm and rich colours and natural wood. But I must say that some contemporary houses really inspire me and I like it.

Te same stoliki pod TV, te same stoliki do kawy, jasna laminowana podłoga, beżowe wykładziny, tanie dywany i oczywiście ściany w kolorach neutralnych z wiszącymi zdjęciami Nowego Yorku lub kwiatów.

Inspirations

I absolutely adore british cottages. There is something from fairy tail in those little houses. Cosy, warm, simple and beautiful. I'm dreaming about one in the middle of nowhere with stunning views and wildlife around!

Wprost uwielbiam angielskie wiejskie domki. Jest w nich cos bajkowego. Przytulne, ciepłe, proste i piękne. Marzy mi sie jeden z nich, gdzies posrodku pustkowia z niesamowitymi widokami i dziką przyrodą wokół!

Do you remember movie "Holiday"? I love Iris little cottage, is just perfect from outside as well as inside.
