Choosing colours

Hello,

I thought it might be useful to write something about colours. Sometimes we struggle to match different shades. To help us with choosing the right colour scheme we can use a colour wheel. Is a great tool which shows us how to combine colours.

Pomyslałam, że użytecznym może być napisanie czegos o kolorach. Czasami nie radzimy sobie zbyt dobrze z połączeniem różnych odcieni. Z pomocą może nam przyjsć koło barw. Jest swietnym narzędziem pokazującym jak dobierać do siebie kolory.

There are a few ways to achieve harmonious interiors when choosing a colour scheme.

Istnieje kilka zasad do osiągnięcia harmonijnego kolorystycznie wnętrza.

Monochromatic

This is when we use any shade of the same colour.

Monochromatycznie

Jest to połączenie różnych odcieni tego samego koloru.

Analogous

When we use colours which are next to each other on the colour wheel.

Analogowo

Kiedy używamy kolorów występujących obok siebie na kole barw.

Complementary

Using two colours opposite each other on the colour wheel.

Uzupełniająco

To połączenie dwóch kolorów występujących na kole barw naprzeciw siebie.

Triad

This is a colour scheme when we use three colours equally spaced from each other on colour wheel.

Dynamicznie (po trójkącie)

To użycie trzech kolorów równo od siebie oddalonych na kole barw.

Lately it is very popular to use achromatic colour scheme, where we use blacks, whites and greys. I think those are very safe and easy to use in any interior. So if we are not sure what colour we want, we can start from whites, adding some blacks or greys, and then we can try to introduce different colour.
Also as our base we can use neutrals such us creams, beige or light browns.

Ostatnio bardzo popularne jest achromatyczne, bezbarwne użycie kolorów, czyli połączenie bieli, czerni i szarosci. Jest to łatwe i bezpieczne rozwiązanie jesli nie jestesmy pewni co do koloru jaki chcemy użyć we wnętrzu. Możemy zacząć od bieli, czerni czy szarosci, a potem stopniowo włączać jakis inny kolor.

Jako podstawy możemy również użyć kolorów neutralnych, takich jak beże, kremy czy jasne brązy.

   

                      

Recently I bought a great book by Kevin McCloud about colours in interiors. The book is a guide to colours used in different periods and styles.

Kupiłam ostatnio swietną książkę Kevina McCloud'a o kolorach we wnętrzach. Książka jest przewodnikiem po kolorach używanych w różnych epokach i w różnych stylach.
